An Update from Diverse AI

A snapshot of Diverse AI’s amazing volunteers

The beautiful faces you see above are the people who make this organisation great. They have volunteered their time, expertise, and creativity in some way or the other over the years, and they only represent a fraction of our volunteers.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers and sponsors who have contributed to the various programmes we’ve run since we started and are working with us to build a more diverse, inclusive and safe AI future for everyone.

Our work so far >

Thanks to all our volunteers, partners and sponsors, we have impacted over 2000 people globally since we launched in June 2023. From hosting 19 in-person and online events across the UK, including AI literacy skills and education, to driving research on diverse datasets for Generative AI, to having over 600 members on our Slack channel, we’ve remained committed to our vision of building more diversity in the field of AI.

We have also received immense support from the following sponsors and partners: Radically Digital, Salesforce, Code Clan, Turing Fest, EY, Bigspark, Energy Systems Catapult, UWE Bristol, The Alan Turing Institute, BRAID UK, Gate One, and Dentsu. Thank you so much for your support!

Now, we’re ready to move up a notch and drive further impact in this critical area, ensuring AI is responsible, safe and beneficial to the human race.

Diverse AI’s 2026 Roadmap

Our future plans >

In 2026 and beyond, we will continue to drive impactful work across our 3 focus pillars: Research, Education and Community Empowerment. We’ll also be launching in the Republic of Ireland!

For our research arm, we have committed to tackle the gigantic project of building a new image dataset that does not currently exist today. This dataset will comprise of the 2.6 billion people in the world who do not have access to the internet. This represents one-third of the world’s population. As we now live in the digital age and the future is becoming increasingly more digital, these people are currently at risk of cultural erasure and ultimately human extinction.

If you’d like to be a part of this dynamic movement, please donate here and help spread the word!

Let’s build a safe, diverse, and inclusive AI future - together.
